I drove past this entrance to a Gilston farm in the Gold Coast hinterland many times on my way to work. Every time I drove past it, I thought I want to get a shot of it.
Then finally, one day, on my way to surf after work with a colleague who was driving, I hung my Canon 650 with a Kodak T-Max 100 film in it out the window and snapped and hoped to get it.
Fortunately, I got it – it’s not straight, but the elements are all in the frame.
Using a polarizer on my 24mm prime lens, the clouds have a nice contrast to the sky while the boots silhouette in the foreground.
It’s a lucky shot, but that’s half the fun when shooting and hoping with film.
